NNScholar Documentation
Public documentation for the NNScholar research workspace, WebUse, and desktop app.
What is NNScholar?
NNScholar is an AI for Science research workspace that brings literature search, PDF downloading and reading, literature databases, AI research agents, manuscript drafting and revision, citation verification, and submission preparation into one long-running research space.
It is not a one-off chat tool. NNScholar is designed to help researchers move from a research question toward verifiable, reusable, and deliverable research work.
Where should I start?
- First run: start with Quick Start. If you have only used general chat assistants before, read First Research Workflow.
- Desktop workspace: read Desktop Overview and Right Rail.
- Module reference: use Desktop Modules for Chat, Expert library, Literature, Library, Paper reading, Document Writing, Deliverables, Research automation, Plugins and skills, Browser, and Side chat.
- Research workflow: follow Research Run and Agent Planning.
- Credits: check Credits and Plans before heavier AI workflows.
If you enter a protected WebUse or desktop workflow, NNScholar will send you to the main website to sign in and then return you to the relevant workflow.

Example Demo
If your starting idea is "I want to study coronary CTA imaging markers and prognosis in patients with diabetes," read the docs like this:
- Start with First Research Workflow to understand the complete path.
- Read Literature to learn search and screening.
- Read Library and Paper reading to save PDFs, open PDFs, and ask PDF-grounded questions.
- Move to Document Writing for manuscript drafting, revision, format matching, and document review.
- Finish with Browser and the Automatic submission assistant described in Chat.
This reads the documentation as one research workflow instead of isolated pages.
Credits and Plans
NNScholar uses a unified credit balance. Free users can start with basic usage; paid plans provide more credits and heavier AI research workflow capacity. After signing in, you can view your plan, credits, payment records, and billing information in account settings.
