NNScholar uses a unified credit balance. Free users can start with basic usage; paid plans provide more credits and heavier AI research workflow capacity.

Before relying on a paid workflow

2. Confirm the current credit balance.
3. Keep the research question narrow.
4. Use Agent Planning before launching expensive multi-step work.
5. Save final outputs to Deliverables so they can be reused.

Scenario: you want NNScholar to read 50 papers and generate an evidence table.

A safer path:

1. Start with low-cost search to confirm the topic and core paper set.
2. Use Agent Planning to produce the batch-reading plan.
3. Run the workflow on 3 papers first and check whether the fields match your research question.
4. Scale to 50 papers only after the format and evidence trail are correct.
5. Save the final evidence table to Deliverables so you do not spend credits regenerating the same result.

This reduces wasted credits from broad searches, useless long answers, and repeated generation.
